EF Education-Aevolo finish Circuit des Ardennes on a high

Our young team grabbed third on the final stage and a top-ten on GC

April 14, 2026

The racing is coming thick and fast at this point in the season, and our EF Education-Aevolo riders are relishing every opportunity, with the team taking a solid top-ten on GC and third on the final stage at the prestigious French race, Circuit des Ardennes.

Nathan Cusack capped an excellent performance on the final stage at the weekend to take third, in what was his best result in a European stage race. The 20-year-old battled through a tough final circuit and held his nerve to seal a podium place courtesy of his punchy sprint.

The final day of racing also saw Tomos Pattinson retain his eighth place on GC.

“I was really happy with the third place on the final stage. It was a bit of a shock at the time, but it feels pretty awesome,” Nathan said.

“The final day was super tough, and there was an aggressive break formation at the start. My legs weren’t feeling great, but the team defended Tomos’ GC, and I was able to close a few early moves. We raced smart by saving our energy, and on the finishing circuit, Joshua Golliker did a great job bringing back the front group, and in the last 10km, I started to float towards the front. Joshua Golliker did a really good job bringing me up to sixth wheel, and I was able to come through and take third,” he added.

For Nathan, the result is a major confidence booster ahead of a short break and then a return to racing in May.

“This result really helps me a lot. I had finished just outside the top-ten in the sprints before the final stage, so to move up to third on the final day is great for my morale and it’s a reward for how much the team stuck together,” he said.

Next up for the EF Education-Aevolo team is the Le Tour de Bretagne Cycliste stage race in France, later in April.
