Noah and the three bears

British sprinter takes a hat-trick of wins and the points jersey at Le Tour de Bretagne Cycliste

May 5, 2025

Noah Hobbs capped off an excellent week of racing at the Le Tour de Bretagne Cycliste on Thursday with his third stage win.

The British sprinter triumphed in the final stage to Plancoët, and this victory helped him secure the points jersey and a position in the top ten of the general classification.

On Thursday, the entire EF Education-Aevolo team contributed to the stage win. Linus Larsson and Noah Streif marked several early attacks before Streif joined a key break. Gavin Hlady then put the hammer down on the finishing circuits and nearly reached the line as part of a late attack.

Gavin put in a valiant ride, and although he was caught with 800m to go, Noah was still on hand and powered to the line to take his third victory of the race.

“It was a really tough day. It’s always like that on the last day of a stage race, with everyone trying to make a move and do their thing,” Noah said at the finish. “We played it perfectly, though, with Noah Streif in the early break and then Gavin covering attacks on the finishing circuit. He also got in the moves. When we ended up coming by him with 800m to go, he still had the energy to shout for me, yelling ‘go on Noah’, and that gave me the extra motivation for the sprint. I was confident with the sprint. It was a bit like the win the day before. I wasn’t feeling great at the start, but on the last few laps, I started to come around and knew I had the legs for the sprint. As soon as I had some clean air, I went for it."

Noah has now won six races since the start of the season and picked up two points jerseys. It’s been a dream start to the season for Noah and EF Education-Aevolo as the U23 team continues to make strides in its debut season.

“Coming into the week, I was aiming for a stage win, so to win three is a special feeling. The environment in the team has been key to our success. We’re still a new team, and we’re still bonding and figuring things out, but by the last stage of this race, we had so much figured out between us,” Noah said.

Three wins and a points jersey weren’t Noah's only rewards for a week of racing in France. The 20-year-old was presented with a five-foot teddy bear after each of his victories, and his biggest dilemma at the end of the week was deciding how to get them all home.

“I do not know where I’m going to put them or how I’m even going to get them through customs,” he said. “One can go to the service course in Girona as a mascot, and then I think I’ll try and get one home to the UK with me. The third one, Ben Wiggins, whom I live with in Girona, has put his hand up for that one. If he can get it home, he can have it.” Noah added.

Next up for Noah and EF Education-Aevolo is Gent-Wevelgem on May 11th.
