Meet EF Education-Aevolo’s 2026 roster

“It’s a more balanced squad with a lot more horsepower and climbing talents.” - Jonathan Vaughters

January 7, 2026

After our first season on the road with EF Education-Aevolo, we’re excited to reveal our second-season roster for 2026.

Featuring a mix of returning riders and several promising new faces to support the team’s pursuit of success, EF Education-Aevolo is ready to begin year two of its thrilling journey in the U23 ranks.

In all, we have 14 riders on the team for this year, with Gavin Hlady, Alfredo Bueno, Magnus Carstensen, Joshua Golliker, Linus Larsson, Miguel Ángel Marín, Noah Streif, and Jenthe Verstraete all returning for a second season on the team. They’re joined by fresh recruits, Juan Felipe Rodriguez, Roberto Capello, Nathan Cusack, Peyton Burckel, Jack Makohon, and Tomos Pattinson.

Spanning seven nationalities, our diverse team is packed with talent, and Head Sports Director Mike Creed can’t wait to see the riders in action.

“I’m really looking forward to the 2026 season and seeing what we can achieve with this group of riders. Given the riders' ages, inviting so many of them back after 2025 made a lot of sense, and our overall aim is to continue developing the best talent so they’re ready if and when they receive a call-up to the WorldTour. We want to give every rider an opportunity, and just like last year, when we moved Colby Simmons up mid-year and Noah Hobbs at the end of the season, we want to ensure that our athletes are as ready as possible to make that transition,” Creed said.

Last year, EF Education-Aevolo won 10 races, with Noah taking sprint victories consistently throughout the season. With the British rider now in the WorldTour with EF Education EasyPost, it’s an opportunity for the 2026 roster to shine and take their opportunities. Seeing Noah move up to the WorldTour is a huge inspiration for the riders, and Creed believes that this year’s line-up has even more depth and talent.

“As a group, I think that the average strength of this year’s roster is stronger than last year’s. That might not immediately translate to the results because we don’t have a rider like Noah finishing it off, but overall, we have more depth, more experience, and that should translate to having more numbers when it comes to competing on climbs or through cross-wind sections,” he said.

“We do expect our riders to step up, and the new climbers coming to the team really complement the group, and at the same time, Nathan and Alfredo are still super fast finishers, so they’re also exciting to work with. I’d say that going into 2026, we have more options, which means more possibilities for our roster. Last year, we were somewhat exposed in climbing, and with returning riders coming back stronger and new recruits, we’ve addressed that. If you see a rider like Joshua Golliker, I think he’s really ready to step up, and someone like Roberto Capello is super promising. Tomos Pattinson might not be your pure climber, but he’s a born racer. A lot of stages at a race like the Giro d'Italia Next Gen take a rider with an aggressive nature to win. He’s got that, and when I look down the rest of the roster, we have riders for almost every outcome,” Creed added.

For EF Pro Cycling CEO Jonathan Vaughters, 2026 represents another important year for the organization and, not least, the U23 team.

“I was a U23 rider for only one season, but back then, there was no connection or pathway between those ranks and the pro teams. It’s a night-and-day difference from the current era, and I’m really proud of what we’re creating at EF Education-Aevolo. We might not have that out-and-out sprint superstar, as we did with Noah last year, but it’s a more balanced squad with a lot more horsepower and climbing talents,” Vaughters said.

More importantly for Vaughters, each rider has the opportunity to develop within the team.

“We’re going to give all our riders a chance to show themselves, and I’ve been clear about that with all the riders who sign for us. I’ve taken time to meet them, to meet their parents and in some cases even their grandparents. Parents are trusting us with their kids’ futures.I try to give them an idea of what to expect and that we’re going to do our best to ensure that their son can succeed,” he said.

We can’t wait to see what our 2026 EF Education-Aevolo can achieve.
