Twenty-year-old Jack Makohon brings European race experience, climbing talent, and determination to EF Education-Aevolo. He’ll continue to build his strength and skills next season, as he works toward his dream of becoming a WorldTour pro.
Jack wanted to be a bike racer ever since he was a little boy, traveling around his home state to watch his dad compete. He grew up in Heath, Texas, on the outskirts of Dallas, where there was a strong cycling community. Going to local races to cheer on his dad made him want to pin on numbers himself. Soon he was racing against the best kids in the state. He worked his way up from there, making steady progress as an athlete, as he proved himself against national and then international competition.
Strong rides at races such as the Volta a Portugal em Bicicleta and Turul Romaniei impressed our directors and showed that Jack has what it takes to compete against the pros.
This year, Jack will focus on getting the best out of himself and making the most out of every chance he gets.
